Anthony Ligammari has been a certified personal trainer in the fitness industry for over 13 years. In 2010, he took over as General Manager of a gym in Plainfield, IL and increased sales by 200%. His training experience and personality landed him an integral role in the hit TV series, “I Used to Be Fat” around 2011. At the next gym, he was the Regional Fitness Manager (FM) and was the leading FM for sales for one full year. 2013 brought a multitude of new accomplishments. Anthony opened a gym in Plainfield, IL and it was later recognized as the top gym in Will County. While growing this business, he was involved with multiple programs and foundations including the Plainfield Academy Special Needs Program, Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies injured veterans’ program, and the Lemons to Lemonade Foundation for victims of the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal. Previously, he worked with the Corwin Medical Group doing work related to high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes. Anthony has set up partnerships with organizations including, but not limited to: Olympic Soccer, Plainfield Renegades, PJC Football, Plainfield East & West High Schools, Twisters Softball, Naperville Patriots, Team IL Hockey, and Galaxy Soccer. Anthony’s clientele has ranged from the average weekend warrior to clients of all ages who may be rehabbing from injuries or simply trying to improve their mobility and fitness levels, to elite athletes including 3 nationally ranked gymnasts, 3 NFL athletes, and over 20 college athletes on scholarships. He is an accomplished athlete in his own right: he held AKA and NASQA National Championships 1996 and 1997 for Taekwondo and was All-State for football and track in 2006 and 2007. Most recently, in 2022, he designed and secured the facility and equipment for his latest venture, Pure Motion Fitness & Training in Oswego, IL. In March 2023, he reorganized the business as “PM Fitness” with Jean Pineda.
Jean Pineda graduated with a B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from DePaul University (Chicago, IL) and had a successful career with Abbott Laboratories, Inc. in Quality Assurance. In 2018, she became certified as a personal fitness trainer through NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association). Additionally, she has completed the first of four specialties towards becoming a Master Certified Personal Trainer; she holds a Biomechanics specialty and is in process of completing work in Speed/Agility/Quickness, Core, and Functional Training. In 2019, Jean began working at a fitness club in Naperville, IL training clients one-on-one and running multiple weekly kettlebell classes. Her clients ranged from a non-verbal teenager with special needs to a 71-year-old who wanted to lose fat and every age group in between. Jean transferred to the gym that Anthony founded in Plainfield, IL in 2020. There she coached adults and teens in strength training classes focused on powerlifting, adult circuit class, and children ages 12 and younger in a general fitness class. In early 2022, Jean became Anthony's business partner at Pure Motion Fitness & Training ("PM Fitness" as of March 2023). Prior to becoming certified in the fitness industry, Jean had about 10 years experience as a client herself in strength training utilizing kettlebells and powerlifting. In 2015, Jean held an IL State record in the Raw AAPF Women’s Open (deadlift) and Master (squat/bench/dead) Divisions in her weight class. Jean rounds out her studies with an essential background in nutrition as well as training for pre- and post-natal clients. Outside of training, Jean is a breast cancer survivor who currently serves as a Mentor Angel for Imerman Angels. She has also had extensive experience leading youth groups as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for ten years and in her role as lead room parent for nine years while her children were in elementary school.
